Hello!

How awesomely awesome is this waterpark? It’s part of an Australian family-friendly resort which offers all this water fun to its guests for FREE!

We are always on the look-out for kid-friendly places to go and this one certainly caught our attention. The BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort at Airlie Beach in Queensland boasts a massive 13 colourful waterslides, which we reckon must make this one of Australia’s largest resort waterslide parks.

The water park area is the equivalent to an Olympic swimming pool which means plenty of room for oodles of wet and wild fun in this water playground. A massive tipping bucket sits at one end of the pool and there are fun smaller features for toddlers in the shape of a frog and octopus. The slides come off a two-metre-high platform and are linked by bridges and stairways. There are also plenty of sun loungers for the grown-ups. There are mini slides, fountains and jets and offers hours of water fun for the kids.

And to take things to an even more epic level. There’s also a kids club which gets going every Saturday and during the school holidays. There’s a giant jumping pillow, discos, mini golf, art & craft, movies and toddler time for the little ones.

There is a variety of accommodation on offer ranging from camping and caravaning to fully equipped luxury apartments.

  • Queensland was the first to have waterslides way back in the late 70’s, so I am not surprised they are getting bigger and better. Would live to try this out myself, but think they only let children in to it.

  • I wonder if you can pay an entry fee to use the water park if there is no accommodation vacancies and you have to use alternative accommodation

  • I get sick and tired of being lowered on the public scale because we have our very well behaved children accompanying us into almost every public venue, even when our children are better mannered than a lot of the adults I have come across.Any function that welcomes our children before they judge them is doing the right thing by me,Cheer’s Krusty.

  • That water park is on my bucket list. I’ve never taken my 7 year old son on a holiday as yet (he has special needs) but I’d love to take him to this water park.

  • Looks great for older primary school children (if they have confident swim and water skills) and young teens.

    • I actually think this could be a bit dangerous for younger kids.
