If you have a stainless steel fridge or other stainless steel appliances, the most annoying thing is all the fingerprint marks!

Don’t despair, there is an easy way to clean the marks off and get it shiny again.

Stainless steel cleaner

What you’ll need:

  • water
  • white vinegar
  • olive oil

Method:

  1. Mix 50% white vinegar and 50% water in a spray bottle and spray on your appliance.
  2. Rub with a soft cloth in direction of the grain.
  3. Add a few drops of olive oil to a cloth and buff surface, again in the direction of the grain.

Your fridge or other appliance will be sparkling.

I love a cleaning method that doesn’t involve nasty chemicals and does the job just as well.

Try it out and let me know how you go. Please add your comments below.

  • Love this tip! The stove looks brand new!

  • The cleaner is not abrasive so it won’t scratch the surface.
Ensure the oil is al removed when buffing the surface on the stove. If it gets too hot it will send up smoke and acitivate the smoke alarm. On the stove it could also catch fire.

  • The commercial cleaner I have in the cupboard is a one step application, and quite expensive. This natural alternative is fantastic. Instead of a spray bottle, I mixed it in an open dish that I could rinse my cloth in. The results are as good as the commercial cleaner and so much cheaper. Thanks Jessica.

  • Oh Jessica, I was hoping for more! I do use this on my appliances and it works wonderfully well. My grievance is my stainless saucepan get a residue on them and I haven’t been able to find the old Esesteele cleaning compound I used to use on them. Very expensive though and I thought you had come up with something better.
