If you have kids or pets, your carpet can become smelly very quickly. If you are anything like me, you’ll want to freshen it up easily!

You don’t have to buy expensive carpet deodorisers filled with chemicals, you can make your own natural deodoriser very easily and cheaply.

DIY natural deodoriser

Ingredients:

  • 8 cups of baking soda
  • 30 drops of essential oil

Method:

  1. Combine baking soda and essential oil in a bowl and stir until combined and smooth.
  2. Place some of the mixture into a shaker.
  3. Sprinkle a layer onto carpet and leave for a few hours.
  4. Vacuum off.

The extra deodoriser can be stored in jar for use next time.

I can’t believe how easy this is and the smell is way better than the bought stuff.

Try it out and let me know how you go. SHARE your thoughts with us in the comments below.

  • How awesome is baking soda? I am thinking calming lavender might work well in the bedrooms for the essential oil fragrance.
