Kelly Clarkson honoured America’s birthday by giving a shout to U.S. service members fighting the good fight.

Some “lovely” follower responded to her with – “You’re fat,” user @Euger23 replied.

Ms Clarkson decided a simple response would be all she needed.

“And still fucking awesome :P,” the singer simply wrote.

Yep. Take that dude! It looks like he has since deleted his tweet.

Her fans soon jumped to her defence….

Any sort of shaming is not acceptable, but people seem to think they have a free pass when they sit behind the magical computer screen that turns them into a worldclass keyboard warrior.

Why do people do this – why does it even matter to them what the size of another person might be? Odd indeed! Good on her for stating her position and getting on with her life. Maybe people need to look at and work on themselves instead of judging others.
