Kmart has jumped on the skyrocketing skincare market, releasing a range of bargain products that look like dupes of pricey brands including Sol De Janeiro and Glow Recipe.

Kmart is no stranger to creating lookalike dupes of more expensive products, including candles, and this latest drop of skincare has already caused a stir.

It didn’t take long for Kmart fans to spot the latest dupes online, with the new range starting at just $3, a far cry from the prices of Sol De Janeiro And Glow Recipe, which are stocked in Mecca. Here’s a look at some of the range:

Kmart is selling dupes of the very popular Sol de Janeiro perfume mists, for a fraction of the price. These are hugely popular with the tween and teen crowd.

The iconic Brazilian Bum Bum Cream has also been given the Kmart dupe treatment.

Glow Recipe’s face mist is also featured, but as to whether the products are a dupe in more than just packaging has yet to be seen.

With tweens and teens jumping on the skincare bandwagon and sharing their routines on TikTok, dermatologists have warned against the use of certain active ingredients, like retinol, on young skin.

Even Go-To Skincare founder Zoë Foster Blake has weighed in on the controversy, saying some products can be harmful to young skin.

  • When it comes to skincare products, I prefer to go with a brand that has been around for decades.

  • That is cute especially for the younger generation who want to smell nice and get started on skincare.

  • I don’t use skin creams at all, so doubt I will be buying these of either range.

  • We have these and didnt know they were knock offs! My 9 year old loves them, i have tried the product too and found it too be gentle on skin, with a lovely scent.

  • Yes, but is the quality the same? I personally wouldn’t trust Kmart to stock a quality skin care range.

  • Would be interesting for someone to review the ingredients and any nasties in the cheaper options….

    • I agree; that would indeed be a good thing to do.

  • It’s crazy the price of skincare products. The issue with tweens/teens (sometimes even aldults) is they buy products just due to the smell not even understanding the impacts positive/negative impacts

    Reply

  • No, not of interest to me.

  • I love the smell of the original products but I haven’t bought any because of the price. I probably would go in and smell the Kmart ones but I can’t see the scent lasting too long.

  • Those prices of the real brands are too expensive for many and I can imagine plenty of people turning to Kmart for this reason

    Reply

  • I’ve never heard of them and won’t be at all tempted.

    Reply

  • I’ve actually never heard of either of those brands! I probably won’t be buying these but it’ll be interesting to see how similar they are.

    Reply

  • These are not products that I will be seeking out.

    Reply

  • I love the original, especially the body mist/perfume. So good.

    Reply

  • I’ve never heard of the original brands so I’m not up with the fuss. I haven’t really looked at the Kmart skin care range before but I have heard good things about their affordable make-up range, so I’d be interested in hearing reviews on these products

  • As I have very sensitive skin, I will not be trying this product at this stage until I some reviews have been posted.

    Reply

  • I will just sit back, wait for reviews posted then decide.

    Reply

  • I’m not a huge fan of either range, so I’ll wait till someone comments on the quality.

    Reply

  • Well I know where I’ll be tomorrow! I’ve wanted to try that bum bum cream for yonkies! Kmart comes through, again!

    Reply

  • May be worth trying for the price.
