With the news last month that Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry are expecting a baby, royal fans have been wondering exactly when the baby is due. Singer, Missy Higgins, may have the answer….

Last month we shared the exciting news of another royal baby and the only indication Kensington Palace had provided of when Meghan is due to give birth was that it is in the UK’s Spring 2019, which could be anytime from April to June next year.

But Australian singer Missy Higgins, who met Meghan and Harry in Sydney on their royal tour,  let slip exactly how far along the Duchess of Sussex is in her pregnancy. Or so we thought.

After meeting the royal couple Missy took to Instagram to share her excitement posting:

“What an honour to meet the beautiful Duchess today! She was such a sweetheart. I said I felt sorry for her having to do all these meet-and-greets while 4 months pregnant! What a trooper.

“Prince Harry was gorgeous too, a real charmer. He squeezed Luna’s legs and said “who’s this little cutie?” Looking forward to telling Luna she slept through it all one day.”

Missy has since shared what really happened

During an appearance on yesterday’s episode of The Project, Missy clarified her comment, admitting: ‘I just made it up.’

‘I read somewhere that people had worked out she was three-to-four months pregnant because she said she was due in the (northern) Spring.’

She explained that she wrote the caption ‘without even thinking’, before seeing the post in headlines across Australia, the UK and the USA, shares Daily Mail.

‘I just thought everyone knows she’s about four months pregnant.

‘We weren’t hanging out and she wasn’t telling me her deepest secrets,’ Ms Higgins added.

  • I do my best not to read gossip

    • But you just read this post :D ..its impossible to avoid gossip

  • I knew this would be fake news. No way would Meghan let slip to anyone when she’s due. And nor should she. The people that need to know do know, the rest of us should just mind our own business

  • Don’t believe gossip on the royals. The baby will be here when it’s ready.

  • This is what many people do; running away with one word.

  • Big fuss over nothing really. Everyone is guessing.. but the baby will arrive when it’s good and ready

  • But what a furore Missy Higgins managed to cause with her post!
Just goes to show that social media can put out ‘fake’ news too, and everyone believes it.

  • Before posting something public, better check it twice. And don’t make up stuff. :-)

  • Four moths is a good guestement and nothing more. Just proof you have to double check everything before you post

  • I assumed this when I read the first story.

  • Can’t believe this is news

  • Oh a big fat LOL to this. I didn’t think there was any chance Meghan would let slip her real due date and exactly how far along she is. The royals keep this sort of stuff a well guarded secret

  • Oh oops, that was an accident.

  • I never really believed the Duchess has secrets with Missy Higgins anyway. It’s strange how excited people got by this news!

  • Haha you make one little comment thinking nothing of it then it’s everywhere.

    Reply

  • Haha you only go by what others have said

  • And Meghan could have given Missy Higgins the wrong dates too. It’s what the royal family does, they don’t give exact dates. And why should they, it’s no ones business but theirs

    Reply

  • Well, it’s no brainer that she’s at least three months along probably more to make sure!

  • Baby news is always so exciting.
