It’s nice to know that people like Julia Roberts do some things that I would consider “normal” – for example scaring your kids.

Personally I do this on a daily basis. “BOO” is a big favourite in our house and my oldest (almost three) has decided it is the best thing since sliced bread (on another note… surely there is something better that has come along since sliced bread?).

Here is Julia Roberts talking candidly to Ellen DeGeneres about her three kids:

Do you like to scare your kids?

  • I love Julia Roberts ! And yes, we sure like to scare and make fun with our kids.

  • Yes we love scaring each other. He’s still young enough that closing a door, opening it suddenly 50 times in a row & yelling boo at me is still exciting for him. Simple pleasures.

  • It was more funny watching Julia try to stop laughing at her story and the story itself :). I had to stop myself scaring my children too…. they didn’t take my laughter afterwards too well :).

  • I do like to scare my kids, but now the girls are older they do like to scare me back.
They use the corners of the stairs etc to jump me.

  • My son, like me, is often scared when someone unexpectedly enters his space. He does love the thrill of Hide and Seek and the anticipation of being found… but usually giggles so much he gives away where he hides. I don’t need the nightmares from intentionally scaring my son.
