I think if the parents are okay with it, it’s okay. Obviously it’s the child’s body so either way they will go out and do it anyway…

I think it’s a dreadful decision.

I think it’s kind of sweet that the son wanted a tattoo of his mum, but I would have hold off till he’s 18 and a bit more mature to take this decision.

So many rights given to kids under 18. Sorry no wonder kids are getting more aggressive, rude and have no respect anymore.

I love tattoos but totally disagree with this. I have a 15yo and I wouldn’t allow this in my house. If he still wants it at 18, then no problem

I don’t have a tattoo. My son has a few but he’s now 23. I don’t need him to have my name tattooed on his body. And I certainly wouldn’t have allowed one when he was that young, or of that size.

It’s a sweet request from the boy, but if she absolutely had to agree, I think something smaller and more discreet might have been a good idea.

At 16 I got my first tattoo, there was no social media then. I think social media or internet posts about this should not be allowed as it can be thought it was just done to brag and make money. If my child asks me to get a tattoo of any kind I will tell them I’ll gladly go with them at 18, when they are responsible for there own actions.

I’m absolutely all for tattoos, iv got heaps. But I can 100% say at 15 the choices I had for my tattoos at the time if i got them I would have regretted them!! And honestly… he’s still got so much growing to go, he’s gonna end up stretching the tattoo, can see in a few years time the amount of regret he is going to have and he will likely end up with a blackout tattoo

How irresponsible can this mother be? For a start, I thought the legal age for a tattoo was 18yrs old? Secondly, if her younger child says he wants one now is she going to let him too? This is just so ridiculous! At 15 they change their minds like they change clothes and she has to be the MOTHER here not the child’s friend. He’s probably got plenty of friends but needs a mother! I find this whole situation very stupid and sad. I bet when he’s older he’s going to regret getting his mother’s name on himself. Just plain stupid.

That’s sweet, don’t know how he could put up with the pain.

I would have thought that a person would need to be 18 to get a tattoo… He is only 15 and is going to have that tat forever. I don’t think it’s very responsible… what if he later regrets getting it? It’s also quite big…

Whilst it would be a nice gesture for any child to tattoo their parents name, still wait until they are 18. Growing, style choice, does it need to be that large? I mean all personal preference but tastes change drastically from a teenager to young adult to even into late 20’s. Something that shouldn’t be a quick decision

While it’d be sweet if my kids wanted my name tattooed on them I’d still make them want until they were 18 lol

I’ve none. I think my daughter was 18 when she got her first one. Now at nearly 20 she has a significant amount of tattoo’s

This is a decision to change your body permanently – I do think it should be banned if you’re under 18.

Ugh, this sucks. It reeks of that ‘boy mum’ craziness you see memes about. At 15 this boy still has some growing to do, which might effect the look of the tattoo. She should have just bought him a ps5 or put it towards a first car.

What on earth was this mum thinking. Thankfully technology these days can help remove tattoos which I think this kid might want to do when he is older.
