American comedian and actress Colleen Ballinger is going viral for this totally relatable photo.

The 32-year-old is being praised for sharing a very real look at post-partum life after posting a photo of herself in a stained singlet top.

Standing in front of a bathroom mirror, she points out things like “baby barf”, “leaking milk” and “baby pee” as well as the dirty dishes she hasn’t had a chance to clean up.

“I see a lot of moms online who portray a perfect, easy lifestyle,” she wrote, “But this is a more realistic version of what motherhood looks like.”

“I wish more people would show their reality instead of the most perfect version of themselves online. Cuz the messy stuff is beautiful too (sic).”

Mums have thanked Colleen for being so down to earth writing, “I think it’s so cool that you shared the real side of your pregnancy and now motherhood with us it’s so fascination and it’s something I wish more people did!! Also you still look beautiful even with baby barf all over you,” another commented.

“You forgot the hair that probably hasn’t been brushed, let alone washed in days. That was always my favourite part of being a new mum lol,” joked another.

  • Oh yeah! When your kids are really little, this is a daily thing. I often used to wonder what was the point in putting on clean clothes

  • So glad she showed a true pic of ‘mum life’

I hope a lot of other first time, even multi time mums see this and realise, you don’t have to look perfect everyone second or have a perfectly clean/tidy house

  • Glad the days of decorations from babies are past for me. Remember taking a cardigan with me shopping to cover up if I leaked. Nothing like wearing a light coat in Summer in North Queensland though better then two dark patches on the front of my dress shopping.

  • I heard about a new Mum who went shopping with a neighbour and her young son. He noticed the wet patch on the top and asked if it was raining inside.
