A pregnant mum has shared her hilarious (and disgusting!) experience after her two-year-old daughter had a toilet training disaster.

A mum has shared her horror experience after her two-year-old daughter had a toilet training disaster that sent her husband running for a bucket.

The mum, who is expecting her second child, said that she put her daughter down to sleep while her husband was in the shower and planned to have an early night herself when the chaos began.

A Nasty Surprise

Just moments after she was put down to sleep, the mum says that her daughter had a major toilet training disaster that is every parent’s worst nightmare.

“She covered herself from head to toe in her own poop,” she wrote in her post.

“She smeared it on the TV, the carpet, and all over her favourite blanket. It was in her hair and beneath her nails. It covered her belly and her back. Poop was EVERYWHERE.”

As if there wasn’t already enough mess, the mum says when her husband saw what had happened, he couldn’t hold it together.

“My husband has a weak stomach,” she said. “Cue projectile vomit. EVERYWHERE. I just sat down and cry-laughed for a good ten minutes. We’re expecting our second later this year. Send help!”

Not All Fun And Games

Comments on the mum’s post shared similar experiences, but some pointed out that many children never feel the need to play with their poop.

“Parents are poop masters! Masters of the poopaverse!” one mum wrote. “I am potty training my three-year-old and my life now revolves around other people’s bowel movements.”

“So far my two-year-old only wants to look at her poop, she’s very proud of her hard work,” another said. “We’re now potty training so fingers crossed it won’t progress to touching.”

The experience of toilet training is never an easy one, and if you manage to get out of it without at least one incident, you’re definitely in the minority! At least this mum was able to laugh at the situation – we don’t think her husband will ever live it down.

  • Even though its horrible it is funny! My daughter when she was small was in her cot and when I came in she had poop everywhere and she was grinning at me like a Cheshire cat- waiting for praise! I laughed until I cried. Kids hey?

  • What would the husband have done if his pregnant started vomitting when changing a dirty nappy from the previous baby. There was a very small gap between pregnancies.

  • We are starting to toilet train but he is still wearing pull ups as I have just had my second child 8 weeks ago and it’s too cold! Can’t wait for the warmer weather so we can just put him in jocks outside. Then I might have a toilet disaster story as well haha.

  • Never had this problem with my boys (thank goodness). It was like they were born to using the toilet. My problem comes when I hear someone dry heaving or vomiting. I seem to have to dry heave with them

  • My 5yr old has Down syndrome and smears with poo at times. My husband likes to run away from it as well 🙂 I’ve had situations that I first quickly pulled the door closed behind me, shouting out “Lord have mercy” and had to gather courage to face and clean the mess.

  • My now 26 year old daughter (now a germaphobe with sanitiser always at hand) was a very early poop artist! We were toilet training her older brother then aged about 3 when she decided she too would be trained at about 16 months. This entailed removing her nappy as soon as she pooped and using the contents to decorate her cot, the mattress, the walls etc! Only happened a few times but oh gosh the mess! Only blessing was, she was trained very early!!
