If you’re guilty of sharing your Netflix password, keep an eye on your emails because the streaming giant is about to contact you.
Netflix announced today that it’s sending an email to members who are sharing Netflix outside of their household in Australia.
In a statement, Netflix said, “Starting today, we will be sending this email to members who are sharing Netflix outside their household in Australia. A Netflix account is for use by one household. Everyone living in that household can use Netflix wherever they are – at home, on the go, on holiday – and take advantage of new features like Transfer Profile and Manage Access and Devices.”
The email details how to share Netflix with someone outside of your household. You can either transfer a profile to a new membership that they pay for, or you can share your Netflix account with someone who doesn’t live with you, for an extra $7.99 per month.
A Netflix subscription starts at $6.99 per month, with ads. A standard plan is $16.99 a month, while premium is $22.99 monthly.
