Becoming a mum for the first time is equal parts incredible and overwhelming – there are many things about motherhood that come naturally, and so many things we need to learn on the spot. And one of those many things we must learn on the ‘job’ is navigating our baby’s sleep… one of the steepest learning curves of all! Baby monitors are highly recommended to first time mums, but the Owlet Smart Sock Plus goes beyond a camera to help every new mum navigate the curly world of their bub’s sleep.

From those sweet newborn cuddles, the glorious toddler years of mayhem and right through to early childhood, the Owlet Smart Sock Plus is the best friend new mums can ask for.

Here are the reasons why new mums love this product from Owlet:

1. It offers peace of mind like no other baby monitor

Owlet Smart Sock Plus tracking

Constantly checking on your newborn while they sleep is a new parent’s rite of passage. Thankfully, technology has come a long way, with tools like the Smart Sock Plus that can track important indicators while the baby sleeps.

The Smart Sock Plus tracks your baby’s heart rate, oxygen level and sleep trends with readings available via the Owlet Care App. That’s right – you can keep an eye on all the information you need no matter where you are without having to disrupt your bub’s sleep. That means having a cuppa in peace knowing your little one’s sleep patterns are in the palm of your hand.

2. Amazing insights right in the palm of your hand

Owlet-Heart-Rate

Like we’ve said, technology has come a long way. In many parent’s worlds, technology is key to connecting with physically distanced family members and friends. So why wouldn’t you want to bring smart tech into the world of parenting?

Your newborn or little bub is too young to tell you why they might be fussing in their sleep, so having a product that does the talking for you can help bring confidence into your parenting journey.

As a mum using the Smart Sock Plus, you’ll be notified if your bub’s reading falls outside the preset zones via the Owlet Care App and Base Station. The Base Station glows green when your baby’s readings are within preset zones and lights up red to tell you if your baby’s reading has fallen outside the preset zones.

3. You can ditch the notepad when it comes to tracking sleep

Owlet Smart Sock Trends

Whether you’re up every two hours to feed bub or rocking your little one to sleep, you no longer need to take mental notes of how many hours of sleep your bub is getting.

The Smart Sock Plus tracks sleep trends, so you can view the total number of hours slept, the number of times bub woke up, and their overall sleep quality. And with the Smart Sock Plus’ capabilities designed to be used right up until early childhood, this device is your helping hand when creating new bedtime and sleep routines as your child grows.

No mum likes their child to be overtired… it means more work for everyone! The sleep trends collected from the Smart Sock Plus allows mums to draw their own insights into their bub’s mood – depending on how much sleep they do… or don’t get!

4. It grows with your baby

Owlet Smart Sock Plus

The Owlet Smart Sock Plus is designed to be used from birth right up to five years old or 25 kilos… whichever comes first! This means the Smart Sock Plus is the only baby monitor you’ll ever have to buy.

While you watch your child grow, you’ll have insights into their sleep quality that will leave you with peace of mind, which can improve your own sleep… how is that for a bonus!

5. It’s easy to use, and hard to give up

If there’s anything a new mum doesn’t have time for, it’s learning new tech! Thankfully, the Smart Sock Plus is delightfully easy to use. You don’t need to be a tech whizz, which is great for sleep deprived parents!

First time mums need simplicity when it comes to choosing baby gear – we want things to work on the first try and we want things that make parenting easier. The Owlet Smart Sock Plus empowers you as a new mum to feel more connected  to your bundle of joy as they sleep – which they’ll hopefully get plenty of!

  • What an amazing device. Moving your baby out of your bedroom into their own is so hard, this would certainly give some peace of mind.

  • I remember wanting this as a new mum but couldn’t justify the price at the time so settled for a regular monitor. I feel it is something that would put you at ease etc. So many times I accidentally woke the baby checking if they were breathing! At the same time I wonder if it’s worth it, think even with the monitor on their foot I’d still want to physically check on baby every so often to be sure they were OK.

  • My beautiful sister in law is expecting her first baby in May- I would love to give her this owlet sock. It is such an amazing tool to put her and her partner at ease being able to monitor the baby from anywhere they are. She would absolutely love this!

  • It would have been good for my youngest who had heart problem, but for my other ones who had no special needs or complications I wouldn’t see the need. Nor did I see the need for a notepad

  • I thought to get this monitor with my second but then decided not to. It’s a good device for parents who want extra monitoring but I feel like it would have made me more stressed to check the phone and my baby all the time

  • I remember wanting one of these badly when I was pregnant but unfortunately it was not within our budget. It sounds like a truly incredible piece of technology but personally I think it would cause my anxiety to be heighted as I would constantly be watching the monitor.

  • This is great piece of technology. Never had one so don’t know the real use. My kids are constantly around me. I guess they need this just to make sure where am I for that one minute I have disappeared. Rofl…
