Serve with butter rice, bitternut chips and chili prawn.

Ingredients (makes 12 skewers)

  • 600 gr Chicken breast cut into thin strips.
  • 12 Skewers
  • 1 tbs Cumin powder
  • 2 tbs Coriander powder
  • 1 tbs Turmeric powder
  • 2 cm Galangal
  • 3 stalks Lemongrass
  • 75 ml Coconut milk
  • 1 1/2 tbs Salt
  • 3 tbs Brown sugar


  1. Blend all marinade seasoning ( cumin, coriander, turmeric, galangal, lemongrass, coconut milk, salt, brown sugar) until fine paste. Marinade the chicken meat with fine paste, set aside for 1 hour or preferably overnight in the fridge.
  2. Thread the marinated strips of meat through satay skewers, around 4-5 pcs per skewer. Barbecue the satay using charcoal fire (this method taste better) or put under the grill until golden brown.
