Easy presentation of fruit that looks good.

Ingredients (serves 1)

  • Assorted fruit
  • Toothpicks

Method

  1. Cut fruit into bite sized pieces if required.
  2. Thread fruit onto a toothpick.
  3. Pack into lunch box.

Notes

Great for using up little bits of leftover melon, grapes, strawberries, etc.

  • Fruit kebabs are a winner in my house. I love making them for the kids. I find strawberries, orange, watermelon, grapes and banana to be the best combination in our house. It makes it so much fun for the kids. I normally get them involved in making them and add some yoghurt in a bowl to dip the kebab into.

  • My kids love fruit kebabs or – salad. I only found that certain fruit doesn’t stay nice for long, like kiwi, strawberries, peach & nectarine, pear & banana. All these fruits become sloppy or quickly brown once cut up.

  • In theory this is good, but I worry about my kids and what they can do with sharp things!

    • It might seem a bit overprotective, but I agree.

      • I too would be worried about the toothpicks in the hands of children.
