Wake me up before I go go smoothie. - Real Recipes from Mums

The ice makes it nice and cold. You can also freeze black coffee the way you light it – strong, sweet, however – into ice cube trays and do it that way.

Ingredients (serves 1 | makes 1 small smoothie)

1 ripe banana chopped
1 cup low fat milk
1/4 cup rolled oats
1 teaspoon instant coffee
ice blocks

Method

Blend all ingredients until smooth
Drink and enjoy!

Notes

As a busy Mum I often skip breakfast and sometimes don't even have time for a coffee, so I started making these and love them - I make it so smooth it's more like a milkshake than a smoothie. I have a blitz2go smoothie maker that makes this super easy (KMart now have a similar version for $15)

I love coffee. I love smoothies. I don’t know if I could combine the two. I’m not an iced coffee drinker though so the idea of it cold doesn’t appeal to me. Nice recipe though.
