A two-month-old baby in a pram was pushed into oncoming traffic and narrowly avoided being hit by a car.

The pram was pushed across the road on Oaklands Way near the intersection of Hartland Circuit in Melbourne’s Pakenham between 12pm and 12.30pm on Saturday, reports Daily Mail.

Victoria Police said a car, believed to be a white Ford Falcon or similar, swerved to avoid the pram and continued along the road.

A woman who was with the baby was taken to hospital for assessment after police arrived, but no one was injured.

The circumstances remain a mystery and police appealed for the driver of the swerving car and other witnesses to come forward.

  • The woman who was with the baby was taken to hospital for assessment. She obviously gave no thought to the driver and how he/she would cope; especially if she walked between 2 cars in the kerb straight out onto the road it would have been a miracle the driver saw the pram coming. The driver possibly didn’t think he/she was obliged to stop as there was no accident.

  • Would love to hear the final outcome of this – lucky the driver was watching. The consequences would have been terrible.
