A popular Aussie bargain hunter has revealed her hacks to complete the Woolworths Disney Worlds of Wonder Collector Card album in record time.

Stacie Mckee has been helping families save money since 2018 through her Instagram account budget_save_spend, where she advises her 17,000 followers on navigating the rising cost of living.

The Sydney-sider, and Mouths of Mums member, has turned her bargain-hunting talent to uncovering the most cost-effective (and quickest) way of completing the current Woolies collectibles campaign.

Her first tip is to scour the aisles and Woolworths catalogue to look for products that will give you bonus cards, and then purchase those that you need and are the cheapest.

“Shop the lowest priced items amongst the participating brands,” Stacie explained.

In this week’s shop, Stacie was able to snap up 16 cards for a $30.85 spend (instead of the usual one pack of three cards per $30 spend). You can find out which brands are offering bonus cards on the Woolworths website, or by checking out the catalogue.

Here’s a look at what Stacie purchased in her $30.85 shop. It’s just eight products (multiples of some products):

Stacie also encourages checking out the markdown sections of your local Woolies.

“Check out the clearance section in store or look for yellow clearance stickers stuck on participating branded items, particularly brands such as Bega , Yoplait , Danone and D’Orsogna due to their shorter shelf life. You pay less and still get a bonus pack.

“If you need to purchase multiple items from the one brand (above the three item limit consider splitting your shop into two or more transactions (in $30 increments).”

Stacie’s other tips and hacks include:

  • Make sure you are signed up to Everyday Rewards and activate all your points boosters. This can potentially help to get money off your shop to make your dollar stretch further.
  • Purchase discounted Woolworths gift cards and save between 3 to 5%. These can be purchased from NRMA, Shopback , Bupa Life Rewards, the entertainment app and many more places.
  • Trial Everyday Extra (free for 30 days  to get an additional 10% off your shop each month up to $50.

Other tips to completing your Woolworths Disney Worlds of Wonder Collector Card set

We also asked our fabulous Mouths of Mums community for their tips, and they came up with some brilliant ideas:

Michelle Hunt: “Divide your shopping into multiple smaller transactions to get more cards, as they’re often given out per transaction, not just per dollar amount. Sometimes, ordering online can score you extra cards or bundles—check for any online-only deals. Ask the Staff: Be friendly and ask staff if they have any extra cards. Sometimes they’re willing to give you a few more! Ask you mates who are not collecting to collect for you.”

Sophie Egan: “Timing is everything! Shop during bonus point promotions, split big shops into smaller transactions, and always use your Rewards card. Stack with discounted gift cards for extra savings.”

Karina Lee: “Stand behind someone with a big load and no kids. Snap up a conversation with them and pray they will give you their stash of cards!”

Tigerlilli Angus: I wait to go shopping at the end of the day when many items are reduced like short shelf life items and dairy products and then if they are heavily reduced such as branded yoghurt is 50 cents and a bonus Item I buy so many of them.”

  • I like to collect the cards just for my grandkids. They love them.
But I don’t change the way I shop just to get extra.????

  • Love this is a job!

  • Was not going to do it as my younger children were not really into them. Then oldest son asked where were the cards, so told him I would get them but no special effort to get extras. At 42 he can buy the extras needed to get them. I am over the trying to get a whole set of things and trying to swap to get there. My younger two are 12 this year so think might be over this type.

  • Look on Marketplace for free swaps or give aways!

  • Not collecting these ones. No kids to collect for.

  • Do we really need tips on how to collect things that will just be tossed out?

  • Not something my adult family is into, but great ideas for those who are collecting.

  • That’s keen. I’ve got too many cards & am not even trying!

  • I scored 54 cards on a $96 shop. The cashier was a bit surprised lol, I don’t think many shoppers shop as I do, like it is a military exercise. When you have a house full of foster kids, and a limited income, you quickly learn to be a savvy shopper. Can’t remember when I paid full price for anything lol.

  • Not collecting this time round and i have to say it feels great!

  • I mean, it’s great if i needed the items! Otherwise its hard to justify when the cost of living is already a struggle

  • My kids like the cards but I wouldn’t change my shopping habits just to get more! However I do already shop using some of the hacks she has mentioned!

  • Luckily my kids are only half interested – Woolies keeps forgetting to put them in my online shops.

  • If they are items in your regular shop yes but otherwise no. I think avoiding collecting them in the first place is the way to go lol.

    • I totally agree although I’m collecting but not bothered if I get them all or not

  • If you are collecting them then good for her. Not something I’m interested in. I am interested in her bargain hunting tips so will check her out. Everyone likes a bargain.

  • Yeah, stocking up on things that are on sale, not perishable, and which you actually use, works.

  • Yeah, I use this method myself, however, it’s important not to fall into the trap of buying things you don’t need just to get cards. That’s what the supermarket giants want you to do. They are trying to increase your spend.
I’m not all that bothered with the cards, but have participated in the lego related campaigns.
