Sydney PR mogul Roxy Jacenko has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Speaking with 9NEWS this morning she said she will undergo another biopsy today and expressed her gratitude for everyone’s support.

“I just wanted to say thank you to all for their support,” she said. “Obviously it’s a tough time but I felt the heaviest I think with Oli and the rest can only be up from here.”

The owner and director of Sweaty Betty PR said everything is “business as usual”.

“You never expect things in life, you’ve got to tackle things head and that’s what I’m going to do,” she told 9NEWS.

“I’ve got two young kids and I’m going to keep doing what I do and it’s business as usual.”

Roxy’s message

She is urging young women to have their breasts checked, saying her mother was upset with her for not having been checked sooner.

“She said ‘Well you knew I had breast cancer, how have you not bothered to check?’” Jacenko said.

“And I to be honest with you I’d been lazy”.

She explained how everything she had read on the subject had only warned women over 40 to get checked, and being only 36, she had not bothered to get a check-up.

“It was lazy of me in hindsight,” she said.

She said she’s now in “good hands” with the team at St Vincent’s Hospital.

She was yesterday due to undergo surgery to remove the lump but it has been delayed pending further tests after it was discovered to be larger than initially thought.
