Every story of a new pregnancy is wonderful. We all love it. But today’s story of a same sex couple who are both pregnant is even more fun.
Married couple Lindsay Lanciault and Toby Fleischman announced recently that they “were pregnant”. No, they are not a couple with just one of them expecting the baby and the other cheering from close by. They are two mums and they are both expecting baby boys – within 3 weeks of each other. They happily took to Instagram to make the annoucement recently and the messages of congratulations have been flooding in for the expectant mums.
Don’t you just love their pregnancy announcement? We think it’s the cutest.
Even Lemon the Shih Tzu is in on the act (and clearly very excited about being a big sister)!

Years before this post however, there is a back story.
The Mums decided in August 2015 that Toby should try to get pregnant first as she is older than Lindsay and they thought she might have fewer years left to conceive. Together they searched for a donor and found a suitable match quite quickly.
They both worked on the process together and achieved success!
“First try at home, I got pregnant,” Toby says.
Sadly that pregnancy ended in miscarriage and over the next year and a half they continued to attempt to conceive although complications kept getting in the way. As time ticked by it also became obvious that they would need to search for a new donor as the samples from the original donor were no longer medically viable.
Frustration after frustration that was keeping them from achieving their dream of becoming parents!
They wanted to switch from Toby becoming the birth Mother to Lindsay however as you can imagine this brought up feelings between them that were hard to deal with. Again, this emotionally charged situation caused delays.
These delays forced Toby and Lindsay to reassess and take stock. During this time, they spent time recuperating.
After a time, Toby and Lindsay met Danica Thornberry, acupuncturist and author of Stick It To Me Baby! and started following The SEED Fertility program, a diet Thornberry says “optimizes fertilization”
Toby and Lindsay were over the moon when “After a month and a half on this diet, I had this perfect, beautiful, normal ovulation — and that’s the month I got pregnant. I’m very lucky I got pregnant ‘naturally’ at home by syringe method.”
Because Lindsay had been supporting Toby all the way through the SEED Fertility program, she was in tip top condition too. So when they found out Toby was pregnant they decided to continue with Lindsay’s attempts to fall pregnant too.
Using the same donor and the same method Toby had used, Lindsay too was pregnant. Right away.
So now both mums are pregnant … with two little boys. Toby is five months pregnant and Lindsay just 3 weeks behind is 4 months pregnant. You can see both baby boy bumps are progressing beautifully.
A huge congrats to Toby and Lindsay. We can’t wait to meet your little boys and wish you all the best for the future.
What do you think will be the trickiest issue Toby and Lindsay will face in the first few weeks at home with the boys?
We’d love your thoughts in the comments below.
Much love,
Nikki x
