School readiness - Building children’s independence in time for school

Hello and WELCOME to our school readiness program where one of our resident leading experts, Sonja Walker, talks us through everything we need to know about our children starting school.

Kindy and prep classrooms and have changed in the 21^st century and teachers expect that children will have a level of independence when they start school. This video provides tips for helping your child to develop self-reliance skills before school starts, as well as a free downloadable fact sheet filled with ideas and strategies to support your child.

Great tip. Being at home with mum or dad and then in a classroom full of at least another 20 children can be scary and its important to teach them to do basics themselves.
