  • I mean, as long as that baby is loved and cared for, who are we to judge? Let them live their lives.

  • I hope all goes well for them both

  • Although people should be free to make their own choices, I’ll admit I find this one a bit unnatural.

  • Having been brought up by an older mother [older than all my schoolfriends mothers] I do feel sorry for this baby. Not that I told my mum, but when I was asked ‘Who’s that?’ by my school mates, I always said she was my grandmother. It sort of made it easier to fit in with the other kids somehow. And my mother didn’t look anywhere near as old as this ‘celebrity’.

    • yes that’s true as my youngest just started kindy and i’m 47 and i can see the age difference between me and other parents ..i have 5 children aged 30,25,23,16 and 6 ..it is more common for parents to have kids in their late 30s to 40s more so then when my older kids were starting school

  • Congratulations to them both. I just hope that other kids aren’t too cruel to this one regarding family situations as he/she grows up.

  • I would not have the energy to raise a child at that age.

  • That’s nice that they can have a baby together of their own!
Congrats to them. I’m sure the baby will be loved by all family members.

  • I don’t know if this is a great idea, but at the same time I guess it’s ultimately their choice.

    • I agree, their life, their choice

  • I am not sure if I am happy or sad about the news. I’d like to know why, when you already has seven children from a previous relationship and 17 grandchildren.

  • As long as the baby is wanted and loved I don’t see a problem.

    • As the baby of older parents, it was difficult growing up with parents that were the same ages as everyone else’s grandparents. I also lost both of my parents a lot sooner than a lot of my friends.

  • Good on them what a great news story. Cheryl and her husband are in love and the next step is a family of their own and Cheryl knows how to bring up children being a Mother and a Grandmother and loving children is the best way of staying young at heart. All the very best to the both of them.

I’m glad to read a surrogate is having the baby and she’s not the one carrying it

  • 63 and being the mother to a newborn. The poor child. This is so wrong and so sad for the baby.
