Sophie Delezio has revealed she’s expecting her first baby with fiancé Joseph Salerno.
The two-time car miracle crash survivor says she has, “The greatest gift of all coming in September”.
The 23-year-old met Joseph when they were in year nine, with the pair announcing their engagement last year. The couple shared two beautiful photos on Instagram, showing Sophie’s growing baby bump.
In 2003 Sophie was badly injured when a car crashed through the window of a Sydney childcare centre and she was trapped under the burning car. She suffered third-degree burns to 85 per cent of her body.
Then in 2006, tragedy struck again when she was hit by a car near her home, suffering a brain injury and heart attack. She was thrown 18 metres after being hit while being pushed across a pedestrian crossing in her wheelchair.
Joseph told Woman’s Day last year that her amazing strength and spirit are what made him fall for the courageous mum-to-be. “She’s always putting everyone else before herself. Sophie’s the most genuine person I know,” he said.
