If your a parent to younger kids (and even older!) ‘Baby Shark’ (doo doo doo doo doo doo) is probably forever stuck in your head. So annoying, right! Well did you realise the beat could actually save a life?

UK paramedic Jon Benjamin has shared on social media that the beat of Baby Shark is the perfect beat to do CPR with.

His video has attracted over 15,000 shares and nearly 1 million views.

In the video it begins – “Baby shark approx 110 beats per minute, perfect for CPR.”

“So if the song is going around in your head, it might actually be useful!”

Now that’s something to teach the kids!

  • My children love this song! It’s so weird. Staying Alive is another song you can CPR too (ironic too)

  • I have never heard this song and couldn’t get audio on this post for some unknown reason. The only song I have heard to do COR with prior to this is the Bee Gee’s Staying Alive and I sure hope that helps if ever I need to do it [and I just might have to soon].

  • Let’s hope another performer doesn’t change the “timing” of the beat in the music. That has happened numerous times with some songs.
    A wonderful idea.

  • singing a song is going to be the last thing I’d be thinking about whilst giving CPR.

  • Aw I’ve had nightmares of this song, following me everywhere, lol ! For many months it’s hit number 1 for my youngest and it’s played numerous times a day. The song is also used as the school bell at my 8yr olds primary school…
But that’s a good one to use it for CPR :)
