Hello!

Most of us have experienced the positive impact that looking after our skin can have on the way we see ourselves: we feel more desirable, more powerful and happier.

Question: But how can you keep up a good skincare routine now that you are a busy Mum, always on the run and struggling to find time for yourself?

Answer: Commit to spending 3 minutes max on your skincare routine at least once a day (and if you can, twice a day, ideally!).

So, here is the “3 minute max” skincare routine for  busy Mums :

1. Cleanse (1 minute – can be done in the shower).

As a general rule, the richer the texture of a cleanser, the more suitable it is for a dehydrated, dry and/or mature skin. A good way to know if your facial cleanser is right for you is to observe your skin after cleansing it. If your skin feels tight, uncomfortable and/or looks irritated, you can be sure that you are using the wrong cleanser and should go for a milder one.

2. Apply eye cream (1/2 minute).

The eye contour is the first area to show visible signs of ageing, so don’t neglect it! Do not use your face cream, as it may have ingredients that could potentially cause ocular issues such as eye irritation or even styes, unless the manufacturer has clearly indicated that it can also be suitable for the eye contour.

3. Apply face moisturiser (1/2 minute).

Because of the fact that water plays a critical role in the structure and function of our skin, using a good moisturising agent will also contribute to any skin looking younger. Also, make sure to apply your face cream right down the neck and décolleté, since these areas are usually as exposed as your face and need an equal level of care and protection.

4. Apply BB cream (1 minute – optional morning step).

If you want to make your skin instantly appear smoother, younger and healthier, you have to use a BB cream!  Apply it on top of your moisturiser and watch the magic! Thanks to to the presence of colour pigments and light reflectors, a BB cream will help minimise lines, diminish the appearance of pores and pigmentation, give you a real glow and hide the fact that you are totally sleep deprived!

So, come on! Make the commitment to invest in your skin and nurture yourself: you deserve it! Oh… And why don’t you add a facial gift voucher to your wish list? Your partner could be listening!

  • My daily skincare routine is my relax time and one I refuse to skimp on. I dont spend time soaking in a bath or anything like that but my skincare is my me time.

  • Love this-getting 3 kids out the house in the mornings does not leave much time for a skin care routine. I think even I can manage this one! :)

  • I love my BB cream! Always moisturize then apply my BB cream and if that’s all I am wearing for the day I feel comfortable going out as my skin is glowing. I also wear a SPF moisturizer everyday.

  • The easier the better, and you don’t have to spend a fortune of dozens of different creams and potions. I’m lazy with skin-care and make-up, and I have a 3 minute make-up regime, with a little bronzing powder, a sweep of mascara, a bit of blush, and some soft lipstick, and I’m ready to go.

  • Out of those 4 steps I only do the first one. I also wondered about the BB cream, sounds like some type of blemish concealer? I know someone that uses a cream for face washing, moisturising, eye cream, neck cream, toner, night cream, lip moisturiser, hand cream etc…

Is there one magical cream that does the lot?
