Hello!

This pram is like the Tesla of strollers. The self-driven high-tech wonder uses artificial intelligence to push and rock your baby. And it even has a hands-free option.

The Ella stroller, created by Canadian start up Glüxkind Technologies, is like something out of a sci-fi movie. Using Advanced Parent Assist the dual-motor system pushes the stroller for you – up hills or when you have your hands full.

When the baby is in the pram, all you need to do is steer and it will push for you. But if you’re carrying baby because they just don’t feel like being in the stroller, it will literally drive itself! It means parents and carers of all physical capabilities are able to take their little one for a walk.

The pram adapts to your walking speed and always stays with arm’s reach and stops when you stop. So it won’t suddenly take off on a downhill slope!

The Ella also has a Rock-My-Baby feature, which automatically rocks the pram back and forth to help your baby get to sleep. No more one-handed lunches!

And if that wasn’t enough, it also has a built-in white noise machine to sooth baby to sleep. Just use the companion app to adjust the volume or choose a soothing sound. The app also includes a Find-My-Baby feature so you always know where the stroller is.

Ella, which is battery powered, is also able to alert you to any danger as you’re strolling along. Pre-orders for the pram, which starts at US$3800 are oversubscribed, so if you want to get your hands on one, you’ll need to join the waitlist.

  • How cool is that! Makes me wonder what everything will be like in another 20 years or so with all this new technology but even just rocking itself is fantastic.

  • Not sure about the self driving but I do like the idea of it rocking bubs back and fourth. It’s a nice looking pram too.

  • Don’t know how much trust I would have in this thing with a baby in it!!!
Also, I wonder what the price tag would be like…

  • I don’t feel safe not having my hands on the stroller

    • I agree, I want to be in control of equipment.

  • This looks amazing! Such a luxury item though.

  • No thanks, not a product that excites me.

  • I dont know how I feel about this stroller that drives itself (even if bub isnt in it), as long as it would be something I could turn on and off, say if im walking on a path away from roadways etc then maybe I would use it. The rocking to sleep function would have been handy when bubs was really little he loved falling asleep in the pram, but the moment you stopped moving he woke up.

  • Wow! That’s insanely good- I remember how difficult it could be trying to carrying things and push a stroller or even just getting it up steep hills.

  • Remembering the battle pushing up hill while carrying the toddler that’s had enough I think this is a great idea.

  • I wouldn’t see the need for this when you’re physical able to push, rock and sooth baby your self

  • Wow, this is awesome!

  • It sounds pretty special, but I’m not sure I’d spend that on a stroller.

  • Great for disablities, but seems ostentatious for the average person.
