Toddler found strapped to fence

In incredibly distressing news today KHQ are reporting that a toddler has been found in Nevada strapped to a fence with a bungee cord around her neck.

Last Wednesday night a neighbor to the property was mowing his lawn when he heard screams from across the street, he went to investigate further where he allegedly saw a toddler strapped or caught up in bungee cord that was attached to a wire fence.

KHQ interviewed the neighbor and he said “I walked over there and the kid, like the photo you saw, was strapped or caught up in some of the bungee strap to the fence,”

He made a phone call to the police and also took his own photo as evidence.

“Just because of the previous things that had happened there (the house). So I just wanted some photo evidence versus a bunch of hearsay,” said Knight.

According to KHQ there have now been 3 visits from Police, with the first two being for children unattended in the street, the third time being this incident.

“That strap or bungee cord was pretty much at neck level,” said Knight. “She was up on her feet, but she was kind of struggling around her neck.”

A woman claiming to be the mother of the child has spoken with KHQ to giver her side of the story stating that the child had accidentally become entangled in the cord. KHQ are reporting that the woman has refused to be quoted and refused to answer why the child was unattended when the incident occurred.

3 times is too many this is not a case of oh my she got away from me for two seconds and look whats happened…. this poor toddler could have died, i dont know if she was tied there it does look that way, or if the mother got sick of her escaping and instead of looking after her and watching her properly she has tied the gate thinking it would prevent her daughter escaping onto the road again, either way if that child is not removed from her parents this will probably end up in tragedy.

OMG, this is horrific. It raises so many questions. I just think of what could have happened if the man didn’t turn up. I hope this little girl is now going to be well looked after and given the care she needs.

It is not the correct way of looking after your child,this needs to be looked into and see if the children are in a safe environment.

Even if this was accidental as the mother claims, it should not have happened. I know that kids can move at lightning speed when they want to, but I had four kids and at the age of this toddler, I would have known where the child was and what he/she was doing. You have to be aware of your children at all times.

Why do some people even have children? Why are the authorities not taking this child into care? This is clearly abuse, even if it was accidental, no child of this age should EVER be left alone let alone tied to anything!

That is shit Waite till a death I live in Australia n we do not stand for that tip of abuses we lose our kids if u cant keep the house clean,abuse and neglect the parents of that little girl needs the same treatment . God bless that little girl

Regardless of the inhumane actions this child has suffered in the past I would love to know which side of the fence the child was. Looking at the background area I think the child was on the footpath. If the cord was on the footpath any child could have been injured/ killed by it. It could well be attempted murder.
