Have you ever had one of those days or weeks where you just need a break? A break from your house, work, or maybe even your children, no matter how much you love and adore them?

One of the best ways to remedy this restless feeling is to take a few days or even a week away from it all. Maybe as a vacation or even a second honeymoon! Leave your kids with family or friends and go rekindle your love life, explore unique and beautiful places, and come back home feeling rejuvenated and ready to face the world again.

Warm, lovely beaches are the common trait of each of the destinations on this list, but all are unique in what else they offer to a couple looking to relax and get away from it all.

Croatia
One of the top destinations for a relaxing and adventurous vacation is the beautiful country of Croatia. It has all of the beauty of the Mediterranean but less crowds and a slower atmosphere. Along the coasts of Croatia are series of preserved medieval towns packed with old world monuments and beauty. On one side are green hills and dramatic mountains, on the other beautiful emerald-blue waters.

One of the most fun ways of exploring Croatia is on a boat. The coastal towns and cities including the 7th century seaport city Dubrovnik, and Split which has a magnificent Diocletian Palace built in 305 AD are a wonder to behold and getting to spend a few days exploring cities, swimming, and relaxing on a boat are a great way to relax.

Belize
There are many different reasons why visiting Belize would be great for some R&R. The weather year round is beautiful, usually around 80 degrees, and it has one of the most beautiful reefs in the world.

The 190 mile long Belize Barrier Reef is easily accessible along the coast and is extremely popular for snorkelling, scuba diving, fishing trips, and romantic sunset walks.

Not only does it have the reef, but also beautiful beaches, jungles and rainforests, and Mayan ruins to satisfy not only the adventurer, but those interested in history, and those who just like to relax on the beach as well.

Bali
The smallest province of Indonesia, Bali, is known for its highly developed arts including painting, traditional and modern dance, sculpture, and music. Bali is always warm and the dry season is from June to September when its humidity is at the lowest. Spirituality just flows from the people and you’ll see offerings of flowers, rice, and incense everywhere you go. There are many different cities and towns to visit to take in the culture, the many different sanctuaries, the beautiful temples, or plenty of beaches to swim and relax it.

St. Lucia
One of the most popular vacation destinations because of its gorgeousness and majesty, St. Lucia is not one to disappoint those looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway.

A large number of beautiful beaches, gorgeous rainforests, and World Heritage site the Piton Mountains; all make up this island located in the eastern Caribbean Sea.

There are many resorts and attractions to see including a volcano, the botanical gardens, and the delightful town of Soufrière. Depending upon what time of year you travel to St. Lucia, there are also many different festivals held each year including the St. Lucia Jazz Festival where visitors and musicians travel to from around the world, and also a Carnival celebration.

New Zealand
If you and your significant other are up for a short or long adventure and a quick trip that is relatively close to home, then New Zealand is a fantastic place to go. There are wonderful beaches for swimming and sunbathing, mountains to climb, freshwater lakes and rivers for rafting, and active volcanos to explore.

The island is not as populated as Australia and is a good place to go for a quiet getaway. But, New Zealand is still well developed with many cities and easy to travel around so you can effortlessly get to the each activity that you want to do.

  • I didnt have a honeymoon. My boss ordered me to have 2 weeks off work even though i explained that my husband refused to take time off for a honeymoon. I had to cancel our booking and lost the deposits. I sat at home by myself for a week and then went back to work.
So….if ever I go to get married again im going to insist that we have a honeymoon booked somewhere and im going….even if i have to go alone…lol

  • I yearn to go on a holiday, and I’m really keen on trying a cruise, where I can relax, get off in ports if I want to, and I don’t have to keep packing and unpacking my suitcase.
