this guy is gross. i can’t remember/don’t know what he got sentenced to but i hope it is life. he could never make what he has done, right

I think the sentencing was way too lenient and he is utter filth how his family can support such a monster is beyond me ..he deserves to rot in hell and do his time with no protection..those poor little victims were violated in such a way that it has impacted their lives forever..I dont think he has mental issues hes just another sick predator and theres so many of them out there its overwheming…our justice system is totally ridiculous and needs an overhaul…good on the good blokes out there like Derryn Hinch for keeping us informed hes a legend

The “sexy” solo he sang and recorded should never been released. It is sickening to think that it is promoted in the minds of some undesirables. He vitually confessed to his “sick” lifestyle by singing it in front of others.

A tragedy that he was able to use his position of trust to abuse young girls including his daughter’s best friend, getting away with it for so many years.

I think most abusers show different personalities to different “audiences”.

  I totally agree with you. It’s part of how an abusive person is able to get away with continual abuse. Someone once described these people who present to different audiences with charismatic personalities as being “straight angels/house demons.” It was said in the context of describing a particular person who presented to the public as a wonderful, kind warm person, but behind closed doors was actually incredibly abusive.

A sad situation for the children. Especially when I don’t think he even regards what he did as wrong. Sad. Sick. Too many of these incidents keep coming to light

no one gets nicknamed ‘the octopus’ for nothing! He associated with other pedophiles and had planted himself in the perfect industry to carry out his sick twisted fantasies. What a embarrassment to the industry. I’m really glad his victims spoke out. Even though he has been found guilty of these charges, i do believe more develop here. Watch this space!

Now I read that he’s being stripped of his awards and his art work is being taken down from public places – good.

Unfortunately I don’t think even jail can rehabilitate these people. They have something fundamentally missing in their brain wiring to commit such disgusting crimes. There have been so many interviews with pedophiles in gaol where they have said never let them out because they will reoffend. Chemical castration doesn’t even work with these animals because it’s a disease of the mind. Throw them in gaol regardless of age, illness etc and throw away the key. I think lobotomies should also be practiced in these individuals.

It goes to show that “appearances can be deceptive”. Rolf Harris always seemed like such a “nice bloke”, and I too grew up with many of his songs and t.v. appearances. They say that he’ll be sentenced, taking into account his age & medical problems. I’d put him a jail & throw away the key, bugger his age & any illnesses he has. My heart goes out to those women he abused, and also to his family, who are also victims in this whole sorry tale.

I am still in shock! I grew up with “tie me kangaroo down sport” and the wobbly board….just can’t fathom why these celebrities do these things.
I am not sorry for him, he deserves what he gets, and if he dies in jail, well, that’s what he bough on himself.
So many kids and parents thought he was a top bloke, when in fact, he was out there scoping for children he could abuse…..makes me sick to the stomach.
This video for example, was all about that subject, and all the while, he was already doing it…..just goes to show you he had no conscience at all.
