One of Australia’s favourite TV stars has welcomed her first child.

Last week, former Home & Away actress Kate Ritchie and husband Stuart Webb welcomed a baby girl in Sydney.

Posting the exciting news on Facebook, the pair wrote:

“We welcomed our beautiful little girl into the world last night. She is doing very well, as is Mum. We happen to think she is perfect and we couldn’t be more delighted. Kate and Stuart x”

The couple, who married in Tasmania in 2010, only announced their bub’s name last night…and it’s no surprise that their choice is absolutely gorgeous, with Ritchie posting:

Back in June, the radio host gave a glimpse into her pre-baby celebrations and shared how grateful she was for all the love and support she’s received.

We know you will join us in sending Kate and husband Stuart lots of congratulations on the birth of Baby Mae.

What do you think of Kate’s baby name?

    Nothing too fancy or weird.

  • Baby Mae should not have any trouble writing her name only 7 letters in christian and surname combined, short and sweet. All the very best to Kate, Stuart and baby Mae.
And yes I like the name not that it matters what I or anyone else thinks, their baby their choice and it’s a good one. 🙂

  • I like it “Mae”, may be an old name but it’s one that can’t be shortened as us Aussies tend to do. Congrats to Kate and Stuart:))

  • Gorgeous name, and actually one we considered for our little one’s middle name. Love the spelling too.

  • I love that name, always a relief when celebs don’t label their kids with something bizarre.
