Hello!

The world’s most incredible birth photos, capturing every imaginable moment of labour and delivery, have been recognised in this year’s annual Birth Photography competition.

This year the International Association of Professional Birth Photographers Annual Birth Photography Competition winners were revealed at a winners exhibition in Melbourne. The awards celebrate the beauty of birth and the skill of birth photographers around the globe in four main categories — birth details, labour, delivery, and postpartum.

“Our association has grown by leaps and bounds and our members continually produce excellent, emotive, and educational birth photographs for the families that hire them,” Lacey Barratt, from IAPBP said. “I want to thank each and every person who entered this year and, of course, the families who agreed to share their beautiful and sacred birth moments with the world.”

  • There are some amazing photos there. I imagine there are some families that are going to have some awesome keepsakes. It’s definitely the best and worst day a woman will ever experience. When you are going through it, it’s like the pain will never stop and then it does and you have a beautiful baby.

  • It truly is so amazing what doctors and nurses get to see when a baby is delivered. Having a child is such a miracle in itself but to be able to see a child come into the world like that would be the most joy-est times. Something that not everyone will get to see. I know i didn’t as i have complications during the delivery of my child. I now wish i had someone to take some photos but you don’t really think about these things until afterwards.
