We’ve never seen an Airbnb quite like this before – would you spend a night in the treetops?

It has become one of the most popular travel destinations for Australians looking to escape the mid-year drop in temperature and seek some much-needed sun, but not everyone who goes to Bali gets to stay in accommodation like this. The ‘Rumah Pohon’ treehouses, located just south of Bali, are going viral on social media not only for their incredible views but also because they are incredibly affordable!

All About Timing

Business Insider reports that the trio of treehouses offer a slightly different experience depending on which one you stay in. Each one has a unique view of the ocean and forest surrounds. Guests are unable to select which treehouse they wish to book, however, so there will always be an element of surprise when you arrive! Each treehouse is equipped with basic (emphasis on basic) necessities for two people including a bed, fan and small bedside table. Just be prepared to share a bathroom, with toilet and shower facilities located downstairs. A night in one of the treehouses is priced at just under $60, which we think is incredible value for this one of a kind experience –  especially when you consider the endless Instagram pics you’ll be able to take!

High Praise

Reviews of the treehouses have said that despite the basic interior, they are well worth checking out. “It’s a once in a lifetime experience,” wrote one guest. “What an amazing place to stay!” said another. While they aren’t the most family friendly, and the interiors aren’t exactly impressive, what better place to live out your childhood treehouse dreams? We’re adding this one to our travel bucket list!

  • I’ve only recently booked a holiday package to Bali, hadn’t considered checking Airbnb options, if I would’ve known may have done it a little differently because these places look amazing!!!

  • That view looks amazing!

  • I’ve never really been keen on Bali – but these treehouses have changed that. What a great spot to stay. Might just have to look into this option

  • Now this is my type of getaway! Look at those views and no rude people to bug you

  • Lools glorious for a different typenof getaway.

  • Oh my! Yes, I would definitely stay there – looks like paradise!

  • Wow those views are incredible!

  • Yes! This is me! my dream. Not sure if it will ever come to light but yes this is Paradise in a nutshell.

  • Just looking at it scares me. I don’t like heights and it looks mighty unstable. I’m sure it’s safe though. Would certainly be a unique experience.

  • It would be awesome

  • I’m not sure how safe I would feel, but the views would definitely be worth it!

  • looks gorgeous but I have a huge fear of heights so someone else will need to take my place, I’ll just look at the photos

  • This is a pretty cool get away

  • Couldn’t possibly stay there – wouldn’t be able to climb up to bed as I hate heights and especially when I can see through the steps to what is below – the ground a long way down!

  • You would need to cope with the humid weather. I certainly can’t. I really struggled in Darwin and in Cairns. It reckon rain would go through the gaps in the timber in the walls too.
