A 15-year-old Gold Coast girl is making more than $1000 a month, after starting her own cake business.

Launching her business A Piece of Cake online nine months ago, Kea Walsh makes around four cakes a week, shares 9 news.

“When I was younger I just liked eating the foods and now I like decorating them,” the Silkwood High School student said.

“Sometimes I’m up really late at night doing the cakes but they get done.”

Kea has been refining her skills with a traineeship at Little Miss Muffin in Southport. Next year she will travel to France to learn under some of the best in the world.
