It is our humble little Tim Tam. Australian go through more than 400 million of them a year! It’s time we honoured these little beauties and gathered some of the best Tim Tam recipes.

What Are Tim Tams?

So, first things first, if you live in Australia and unsure what a Tim Tam is, it is time to jump in the car drive down to Woolies and pick up a pack! Now for some quick history, the director of Arnotts, Ian Norris developed these biscuits after he tried a penguin biscuit whilst on a trip to England in 1958. He was keen to make something much better! And the name? That came from the Kentucky Derby winner in 1958, you could say it has been a winning combo.

  • Why mess with something that is working anyway. Just love Tim Tams the way they are.

  • I am a purist. And just like the original Tim Tam as it is. No gimmicks.

  • A Tim Tam by itself is perfection.

  • Tim Tams are my favourite chocolate biscuit, the original ones. I’m too scared I’ll ruin them in a recipe, they’re too good to waste

  • A tim tam slam is not done with a glass of milk!! Its a hot drink, usually coffee or hot chocolate. I know one person who does it with tea, but ew. But it has to be hot so it can all melt and go soft and you can shove it all in your mouth. Dark chocolate tim tams and hot milo is how I roll.

  • Plain usually by the pack, but now I want to try the Black Forest Tim Tam cake ????

  • Hot chocolate. Drink it through the Tim Tam. So good.

  • Crushed on ice cream, puddings, cheesecake whatever it is the way to go. Have to hide the Tim Tams if needed for anything special.

  • tim tams do not last in our house they are pretty much demolished as soon as they get home from the supermarket so now I just don’t buy them lol!

  • By the time the Tim Tam packet gets passed round the family to me, I usually have a child battering their eyes at me for the last one. A true Aussie bikkie!

  • What an awesome idea, I need to try this!

  • Arnotts Tim Tams are available at other supermarkets besides Woolworths. You could also sprinkle it over a cheesecake or cream on a sponge.

  • I love a good tim Tam! Although all these ideas sound so yum, I cant go past a cold one straight out of the fridge though!
