  • Always check out the mark down section. It’s amazing what you can freeze for use later. Stock up for next Christmas this year. Buy all the wrapping, cards, decorations at 50- 75% off after Christmas, beats paying full price.

  • Have you had ten minutes to check the shops. I noticed yesterday that our local woolworths have put all their mince pies out for 34cents a tray of 12, yes 34cents, and this was only one of the items they had well and truly marked down. With school lu nches coming up take the time to check out the muffins, and little fairy cakes, and other items I found woolworths has a small discount section down in the cream milk cheese yogurt area, and yesterday bought quite a few items at about i/4 the price that I could freeze, for morning teas etc… worth looking at coles, and even our local iga had some… lots did not show that they were for xmas. I did notice hot cross buns out already… have you seen them yet?

  • I for one have found great savings in the stationery, after xmas set up, where the shops are trying to get rid of wrapping paper, etc etc., to do with xmas. Today I purchased two large boxes of cards at 20 cents per box, plus a box of gift tags for 20c. and paper 50 cents a roll I know you have to store them, but it is so great to have on hand when you need them for next year, and often I find with the gift tags, not really xmas ones and I can use during the year with great savings.. have to remember every cent does count…..often same applies with rolls of wrapping papers..
