This is the softest play dough you’ll ever make and the best bit – no cooking on the stove.


  • 1/2 cup shaving cream
  • 1/2 cup corn flour
  • 2 drops food colouring


  1. Mix together equal parts shaving cream and corn starch in a bowl.
  2. Roll out on to a clean board then knead it until it starts to form dough.
  3. Add a few drops of food colouring to colour it, then knead some more.


Add more cornflour if the mixture is too wet. Add more shaving cream if the mixture is too dry.

  • Yes definitely going to give this a go little just got palydough for Christmas something fun to make with her her and I’m sure miss 10 will have fun with it as well


  • Playing with shaving foam is fun in and of itself, but to make it even more fun by adding in two other materials we already have on hand = game changer!
    Such a fun afernoon…..and easy clean up!
    Was a little worried about Miss two potentially eating the dough, but the smell put her off thankfully!


  • Dad’s around the country beware- shaving cream shortage haha


  • This is a thrifty and fun idea to do with all the little ones that gather over the holidays at my place!


  • Oohhhhhh there are a few can of shaving foam in bathroom, hubby decided to grow a beard and I could never bring myself to throwing cans away. Project for tomorrow!
