New York Fashion Week is the highlight of America’s fashion calendar each year, and this year it has soared to new spectacular heights with Madeline Stuart gracing the catwalk!
The Aussie model with down syndrome, Madeline Stuart, had a dream to become a model and help change perceptions of beauty and people with disabilities, and this week, she has done just that. Social media has been the key to this model’s career, with her mum starting a Facebook page which now has almost half a million fans!
The inspirational 18 year old from Brisbane was dressed by several international designers and took her place front and centre on the catwalk at New York Fashion Week, held at Grand Central’s Vanderbilt Hall. When she started her walk the crowd went wild, if I was there, I would have too!
Maddy had struggled with her weight, though last year she decided to get fit and healthy so that she could see her dreams come to life.
Maddy wants people to know “that Down Syndrome is a blessing, something to be celebrated. She loves the camera! People need to see how she shines, how her personality just bursts out.”
Good on you Maddy, we are proud of you and right behind you! I can’t wait to see more campaigns with you as the star!
