A former Australian TV star has been charged with the rape and assault of a woman in her home on the NSW Central Coast.
Martin Lynes, 48, who has starred in a range of hit Australian TV shows including, All Saints, Home & Away and Blue Water High, has been charged with a string of offences, including one count of sexual intercourse without consent and three counts of common assault. Mr Lynes was charged at Wyong Police station on February 28.
Speaking with news.com.au, a NSW Local Courts spokesman confirmed that Mr Lynes had been granted bail on several conditions, which includes not going within 100 metres of the alleged victim’s address.
Conditions also include him being prohibited from having any contact with the alleged victim – both indirectly and directly.
The Daily Telegraph has reported that the female victim was treated in hospital for for concussion, bruising and bites.
Mr Lynes is best known for his work as Dr. Luke Forlano on the Australian hospital drama, All Saints. His other starring roles include Rick Gallager in Sea Patrol, Coach Simmo in Blue Water High, Head of advertising company in Packed to the Rafters and a recurring role on McLeod’s Daughters.
Since retiring from acting, he has been working as a real estate agent on the NSW Central Coast.
The matter will return to Wyong Court on April 27.
