One loving dad has created his own unique Elf On The Shelf tradition – with his gorgeous four-month-old in the starring role.

This is the first time Alan Lawrence’s family has had the Elf tradition in their home and his wife made the personalised Elf costume for their son Rockwell.

Rockwell as the very cheeky Elf on the shelf is shown in photos perched on a Christmas wrapping paper toilet, up on a shower curtain rail, toilet papering the Christmas tree and ‘feeding’ cookies into the VCR player.

Alan, an art director from Utah, poses with Rockwell (to ensure his safety) and edits himself out of the photos before posting them to his blog, That Dad Blog.

The father of six, told the Huffington Post that his other kids love watching their youngest sibling in action and coming up with fun ideas for the poses; “My kids coming up with ideas,” he said, “their favourite part is watching Rockwell react to the situations we put him in.”

“It’s almost like Rockwell knows what we are trying to accomplish with each photo,” Alan explained, “his facial expressions for each photo just happen right away.  He loves the attention…my wife tells me he gets that from his dad.”
