POLICE hunt for the parents of a baby girl, found abandoned at a barbecue site.
The baby was found on a patch of grass shortly before 2pm, by a pest control worker who heard her crying as he was heading to the bathrooms on the site. She was found with a note that said she was five months old and suffered from cerebral palsy.
The police source said the note failed to state the baby’s name, or whether she was born in Hong Kong.
According to The Standard she was wearing a pink vest, a pair of black pants, socks and a bib, and was wrapped in a blanket.
Officers reviewed CCTV footage in an attempt to identify who left the child.
Police also received a report from another man, who said an unattended baby girl had been seen inside the barbecue site, but he couldn’t be contacted afterwards. Police are looking for him as they suspect him of involvement in the case.
The baby was taken to a nearby hospital for a check-up.
“Initial checks found no apparent injuries on the baby,” a police spokeswoman told the South China Morning Post.
“The Chinese baby girl is about four to eight months old. She is about 71cm tall and weighs 8kg.”
