With school holidays almost upon us, and La Nina hitting the East Coast, many of us are bound to see some rainy days at home with the kids. Here are the best kids shows to stream for each age group to keep kids entertained this summer.

From music and showbiz for girls and action and adventure for boys, there’s everything here to keep kids entertained. Plus there’s also some great educational and confidence-boosting messages woven into each show.

For glamorous little ladies aged 6-9

Karma’s World

Karma’s World, created by multi-award winning rapper and actor Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, follows Karma, an aspiring musical artist and rapper with huge talent and ambition, and an even bigger heart. Smart, resilient, and deeply empathetic, Karma pours her soul into her writing, channelling her feelings into whip-smart rhymes with passion, courage, and her signature brand of humour.

The series aimed at kids 6-9 years, focuses on themes of self-expression, identity, leadership, creativity and the importance of community as ten-year-old Karma uses her music to help her family, friends and community, while learning just how much power her words can have. She doesn’t just want to share her music with the world… she wants to change the world with it!

For boisterous boys aged 5 – 12

Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous

Six teenagers chosen for a once-in-a-lifetime experience at Camp Cretaceous, a new adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar, must work together to survive when dinosaurs wreak havoc across the island. This season, finally escaping Isla Nublar, the campers find themselves in grave danger when shipwrecked on a mysterious island.

As the group begins to uncover the strange secrets of this new land, they must hatch a plan to not only save themselves, but also protect the dinosaurs from the sinister forces at work.

Dragons – The Nine Realms

Set 1,300 years after the events of How To Train Your Dragon, dragons are now just a legend to the modern world. When a geological anomaly opens up an immense, miles-deep fissure in the Earth’s surface, scientists from all over the world gather at a new research facility to study the mysterious phenomenon.

Soon a group of misfit kids, brought to the site by their parents, uncover the truth about dragons and where they’ve been hiding — a secret they must keep to themselves to protect what they’ve discovered.

Gabby’s Dollhouse

Dino Ranch

Love Monster

Love Monster follows the colourful and funny adventures of the lovable hairy hero ‘Love Monster’ as he searches for the right thing to do in a world in which he is one of a kind. Based on the bestselling series of books by award-winning British author and illustrator Rachel Bright, Love Monster showcases the importance of kindness, empathy, connection and instinct, and is packed full of ‘big life’ learnings for little ones.

By watching his adventures unfold as he navigates the challenges involved in being a bit funny looking in a world of cute fluffy things, the series teaches young audiences at home how to cope with different and challenging emotions.

  • We tried Gabby’s doll house but my toddler wasn’t into it.
    Will have to try love monster as she loves monsters and anything scary lol.

    • ABC kids have great selection of free to air shows the are also running Christmas specials this month.
