Mum’s love the Beyonce-themed dance classes—with their babies strapped to their fronts.
Liz Cahalan, 35, from Melbourne, runs the Bey Dance studio in Brunswick.
She started running Beyonce dance classes after the release of her video clip for Single Ladies came out in 2014.
They were aimed at all skill levels, from those who had never danced before to experienced performers.
Classes teach the choreography to iconic Beyonce music videos, from her Destiny’s Child days to her solo career.
When Ms Cahalan had her first child last year she decided to start classes specifically for mothers.
‘I had to go back to teaching pretty quickly after having her, so I was teaching with her strapped on to me’ the 35-year-old told Daily Mail Australia. ‘And I discovered a lot of other people want to dance with their babies so I started Beyby classes.’
The classes grew quickly in popularity, with plenty of mums keen to shake their booty to Beyonce and have fun moving after giving birth.
The moves are all still based on Bey’s choreography, however for the baby classes they’re highly simplified to accommodate the capability of new mums.
‘There’s a lot of simple arm and leg movements,’ Ms Calahan explained. ‘But it also reminds you of how strong your body is and how capable you are.’
