Hello!

Britney Spears has lost her baby, revealing she’s suffered a ‘devastating’ miscarriage.

The 40-year-old mum-of-two revealed the heartbreaking news in a statement on Instagram:

“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy,” she wrote.

“This is a devastating time for any parent. Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along however we were overly excited to share the good news.

“Our love for each other is our strength. We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family. We are grateful for all of your support.”

Britney revealed that she was expecting her third child just four weeks ago, her first baby with fiancé Sam Asghari, who Britney referred to as her ‘husband’ when she announced her pregnancy on Instagram.

“I lost so much weight to go on my Maui trip only to gain it back … I thought ‘Geez … what happened to my stomach ???'” Britney wrote at the time.

“My husband said, ‘No you’re food pregnant silly !!!’ So I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby. 4 days later I got a little more food pregnant. It’s growing! If 2 are in there … I might just loose it.”

The pop sensation admitted that her previous pregnancies resulted in perinatal depression.

“I obviously won’t be going out as much due to the paps getting their money shot of me  like they unfortunately already have … it’s hard because when I was pregnant I had perinatal depression … I have to say it is absolutely horrible. Women didn’t talk about it back then … some people considered it dangerous if a woman complained like that with a baby inside her.

“But now women talk about it everyday … thank Jesus we don’t have to keep that pain a reserved proper secret. This time I will be doing yoga every day! Spreading lots of joy and love!”

Britney hasn’t been shy about her desire to have a third child, however she claimed the rules of her conservatorship made it unlikely she’d be able to have a baby.

“I want to be able to get married and have a baby. I have an [IUD] inside of myself so I don’t get pregnant. They don’t want me to have children—any more children.”

She was released from the conservatorship in 2021.

Britney has two teenage sons, Sean and Jayden, with ex husband Kevin Federline.

  • She has been through so much, and been humiliated on the public stage. She has been treated like a child and not someone with a mental illness. I hope she gets through this too.

  • So sorry for her and her man. She was so happy about her ‘miracle’. Here’s hoping her dreams still may come true.

  • It’s such a devastating time to lose a child during pregnancy. I had many miscarriages after we had our two wonderful boys. I was hoping to have at least one more but it never happened. I feel for Britney and wish her all the best for the future

  • It’s old to be having a baby naturally. Still very sad.

    • I don’t think she is old, heard some good stories about people that age having babies :)

      • We had our third child at my ripe not old age of 40. Yes it is harder and I struggle with the thought that I have another 12-13 years of making school lunches but its not something I would change for the world. And yes, we conceived naturally.
