Camping for Kids is a fresh new initiative designed to get children to enjoy the camping experience and playing outdoors rather than spending the day in front of a computer or TV screen.

In this increasingly technological world, children spend all day in front of computers at home and at school, making it even more important to get them outside and playing on holidays. Camping for kids encourages a lifestyle of learning, playing and making new friends all while keeping active and healthy.

So what is Camping for Kids:

It’s having fun!

We know you love your brand new WII2, and the curtain is about to be lifted on the future of gaming with the new Playstation4, but nothing can compare with the boundless fun you can have while discovering the great outdoors.  Play, interact and have fun with others! At the end of the day you will find out that you don’t need computer games or Playstations in order to have fun.

It’s being active

When you think camping – what outdoor activities come to mind?  Did you think of fishing, surfing, swimming, running, playing, walking, or even water fights with the family? Well that’s just a few of the many activities you can do while camping!  Camping allows you to be active and social… and the more active you get, the better!

It’s learning new skills

When you’re outdoors, you will develop skills like teamwork, organization, social skills, physical skills… just to name a few!

You will learn to improvise, play and be creative! The experiences you will learn may even help you find a hobby or a life passion that otherwise may never have discovered about if you didn’t go camping!

It’s making new friends

Visit the many caravan holiday parks in Australia and make stacks of new friends and get involved in heaps of activities! You will meet people and see new places from all around the country, which isn’t possible from your living room.

It’s creating memories

Adventure, fun, activities, outdoors, new friends – all these combined is a perfect mixture for making memories and friends that will last a lifetime!

Just think – the birds and animals, the plants and trees, the rocks, the streams and ponds, the insects, the sounds, the weather, the wildflowers, and the many other activities that can provide so much excitement. The possibilities are endless!

  • If your children are only young, make sure they don’t wander off. It is not as though you will them open and close a door. They can be beside you one moment, and gone the next.

  • We live in a rural area, and both my kids and their friends have spent many weekends camping and absolutely had a ball. Much better than stuck to a screen all weekend. Would highly recommend if you have the opportunity

  • Kids don’t miss the tech stuff when we are camping, they are so tired by the end of a long day bike riding, going to the beach, roasting marshmallows and playing with their cousins that they sleep like logs!
