A car carrier has smashed through the fence of a childcare centre northeast of Melbourne.

7 News reports, Witnesses at the scene claim that the driver of the truck was not in the vehicle when it crashed into the Ferntree Gully Children’s Centre.

“It’s cut off all power in the area and causing a bit of chaos,” witness Chris Farace told 7 News Online.

“The truck is literally in the play area of the child care center, so could very well have been an unthinkable disaster.

The carrier had two vehicles on the top level and it’s understood that cars may have been preparing to load in when the unmanned truck lost control.

No injuries have been reported.

More details as they come…

  • A bit premature reporting this. You could have waited to find out why the truck started rolling. Just as well you didn’t name the transport company or you might be seeking legal advice.
