Carrie Bickmore‘s latest Instagram share captures family pictures at their best.

The Project host shared a picture of her with partner Chris Walker and daughter Evie, showing what a family photo really looks like.

“This is what family photos used to look like… before we all took 100 photos until we got the perfect one where we are all looking!!!,” she wrote.

“#LookAtTheCameraEvie #smile #evie #LookOverHere #Evie!! Everyone collectively makes weird noises to get her to look #SheDoesnt #proud.”

Racking up over 2,000 likes already we’d say it’s a pretty successful family photo.

  • lol yeah and then when you have a few kids, there will ALWAYS be one child, who is not looking at the camera!

  • Haha too true. How hard is it to get the supposedly perfect family shot. Even as adults, we can’t do it without someone talking!!

  • Lol, yes we have lots of photos like this. At the very least, one with their eyes closed, or looking away, or grumpy because they don’t want their photo taken. A beautiful family photo, very natural – I think these often tell more of a story than a posed one with every one smiling and looking perfect.

  • Lovely photos and just like they used to be when you had a roll of film and couldn’t afford to buy more.

    • LOL! Rolls that sometimes were expensive black or brown hazy prints!

  • Can relate… but still love looking through the not so perfect ones!

  • All family photos are ‘real’ and I choose to not judge people’s family photos, some are candid and some are posed, but they are all done with the intention of capturing a family and togetherness.

  • Gosh she’s a stunning lady!
Yes, family photos are pretty much non existent in this house. My daughter NEVER sits still and NEVER looks at the camera. Most of our photos are a blur haha

    • Sometimes it’s better if they don’t look straight to the camera if a flash is being used if their eyes are inclined to show as just shiny or red. Some if you take more than one shot they have closed their eyes or turned their head in reaction to the flash.
