Children found wandering the street covered in blood following a stabbing in Brisbane’s east that left one man dead and another in critical condition.
Police were called to a home on Brompton Street in the bayside suburb of Alexandra Hills at around 11.50pm last night following reports children had been seen wandering outside, reports 9 news.
“That was the tragic call for service initially,” Inspector Rob Graham told TODAY outside the crime scene this morning.
“Children walking around the street with blood on them. The first responding police turned up to a horrific scene.
“Subsequently they went into the house and found two males, both with horrific injuries – one dead, one almost dead.
“You can just imagine what the kids and the ex-partner have been through.”
A deceased male is reported as being in his 30s. A second male remains in a critical condition.
Police understand the man who died had recently entered a relationship with a 37-year-old female resident of the address.
They will allege his killer was the woman’s former husband.
A crime scene has been established and a forensic team is now investigating.
