This clever technique could help you remove any foreign objects that your child manages to stick in their nostril.

The ‘mother’s kiss’ method usually dislodges stuck items 60% of the time, and works best when the items are hard.

It can be safely tried at home using the following simple three steps:

  • Place your mouth over your child’s mouth.
  • Hold the nostril that isn’t blocked closed with a finger.
  • Blow gently into your child’s mouth or the other nostril.

You could also try asking your little one to blow their nose to try and dislodge the object.

If you are concerned never hesitate to visit a doctor as soon as possible.

  • Excellent tip here. One that should be remembered as it’s a common thing for kids to get things stuck up their nose

  • I know a girl who when she was about 5 or 6 picked up a small lolly paper in the playground at school and poked it into her ear so hard that it took the Drs at the hospital awhile to get it out.
