The heartbroken father of the teenage girl allegedly murdered by her 34-year-old boyfriend wants his daughter to be remembered as more than the ‘body in the barrel’.

Peter Beilby’s daughter Larissa was found dead in a barrel in the back of a stolen ute south of Brisbane on Wednesday, and her boyfriend Zlatko Sikorksy, 34, has been charged with torturing and murdering her, reports Daily Mail.

Police will allege Larissa was brutally bashed before she died, but Sikorsky’s defence team is preparing to argue her death was a tragic accident.

Mr Beilby said he wanted ‘Riss’ to be remembered as a ‘happy, cheeky, adventurous girl’ who ‘loved to play tricks on people’.

He also said he was angry at the people who helped Larissa leave home before she eventually began a relationship with Sikorsky while living in transitional accommodation.

‘Not one of you people were there to catch her. And that’s what breaks my heart.’

‘I just don’t know how to get my head around it. It breaks my heart every time I think of how she must have been feeling… when she knew what was going on.

‘For someone else to take your daughter and treat her like that … it was like a sledge hammer hitting me,’ the distraught father said.

He said his daughter’s body would be cremated and taken to Adelaide where she would be buried next to her mother Karen, who died in 2006 aged 32.

Mr Beilby reported Larissa missing last week, but she was found dead a day later after allegedly being murdered by Sikorsky.
