Our hearts break for the family of a six-year-old boy who was killed by a log truck driven by his father on Tasmania’s east coast.

Emergency services were called on Sunday.

The log truck with a trailer attached was slowly being reversed against a fence when it hit the young boy, who was behind it, reported ABC news.

He was unable to be saved and died at the scene.

Police said the boy’s 39-year-old father was extremely distraught.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.

RIP little one. Our thoughts are with the family. His father must be shattered, we imagine the little boy was his shadow and will be sadly missed beyond words.
