Ooshies Are Coming Back To Woolworths And We’re Not Sure Australia Is Ready - Mouths of Mums

Hello!

Mums of Australia, get ready! Ooshies are making a comeback to Woolies with characters from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars available to collect.

It’s been several years since these super popular collectibles were first launched at Woolworths, sparking frantic swaps in school playgrounds, parents driving to different stores in search of elusive characters, Facebook groups dedicated to trading doubles, and eBay sales of ‘rare’ characters.

And now Disney Ooshies are officially coming back to Woolworths. This time, there are more ways to collect them, 40 characters to hunt down and, yes, a Collector Case with two exclusive glow-in-the-dark Ooshies.

When Do The New Disney Ooshies Start?

The new Disney Ooshies promotion kicks off at Woolworths on July 15, 2026, and will run until August 25, while stocks last.

Shoppers will receive one Ooshie for every $30 spent, with 40 different characters to collect from the worlds of Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars.

And this time, the Ooshies craze is spreading beyond the supermarket aisles. For the first time, shoppers will also be able to collect Disney Ooshies when spending $30 at BIG W or ordering through MILKRUN.

That means your groceries, a BIG W shop or a MILKRUN order could all help the kids get one step closer to completing their collection.

There Are 40 Disney Ooshies To Collect

This year’s collection celebrates the 10th anniversary of Ooshies and includes 40 characters from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars.

While the full line-up is yet to be revealed, Woolworths says the collection will celebrate Disney’s huge 2026 slate of movies and storytelling.

And if previous campaigns have taught us anything, there will almost certainly be a few characters everyone seems to have and a handful that become almost impossible to find.

You Can Get Bonus Ooshies Too

Shoppers can also collect bonus Ooshies when buying products from participating brands.

The huge list includes Bega Cheese, Bonds, Burgen, D’Orsogna, Danone, Dove, Energizer, Finish, Four’N Twenty, Gillette, Heinz, Kellogg’s, Lipton, McCain, Nescafé, OMO, Oral-B, Pantene, Patties, Smith’s, Sorbent, Swisse and Tip Top.

Some exclusions and minimum purchase requirements apply.

So if you’re serious about completing the set, there may be a little strategic shopping involved.

The Collector Case Comes With Two Exclusive Ooshies

The special Disney Ooshies Collector Case will cost $10 and will be available at Woolworths, BIG W and Woolworths Metro stores.

It includes a board game and, perhaps most importantly for serious collectors, two exclusive glow-in-the-dark Disney Ooshies.

The New Ooshies Are Made From Recycled Materials

One of the biggest criticisms of supermarket collectibles in the past has been the amount of plastic they create.

This time around, Woolworths says the new Disney Ooshies are made from 97 per cent recycled materials. There will also be a nationwide recycling program for families who end up with unwanted Ooshies.

Customers can return unused Ooshies from the new 2026 range to Woolworths stores for recycling until October 31, 2026.

Woolworths Says Customers Have Been Asking For Their Return

Woolworths Group Chief Marketing Officer Sean Barrett says the popularity of previous Disney Ooshies campaigns was behind the decision to bring them back.

“Disney Ooshies have been incredibly popular with our customers in the past, so we’re thrilled to bring them back to make the weekly grocery run even more rewarding,” he said.

“By expanding the program across Woolworths, BIG W, and MILKRUN, we’ve made it simpler for families to unlock those rewards and complete their collection.”

The Disney Ooshies promotion begins on July 15, 2026.

So the big question is: are your kids going to be obsessed with collecting them again, or were you hoping the Ooshies era was over for good?

  • My daughter is absolutely obsessed with these and we’re so excited that these were available to purchase. Every time we go into Woolworths, my daughter asks me if we go spend $30 so that I can get her one of these ooshies. They have always been a favourite when they come out from Woolworths for my daughter she loves collecting them and opening them to see which one she gets.

  • My daughter loves Ooshies and will be excited to continue adding to her collection and sharing any duplicates she receives with her friends. They are super cute!

  • Not another plastic rubbish that’ll sits there after kids are bored with them. You can’t do much with these I think. Just some decorations on the desk that collect dust and end up in the bin and add more to our daily plastic waste. So what it’s made out of recycled plastic. The energy and cost to make these are a waste of time.

  • Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Not again! More little bits of squishiness that I will be badgered to collect by the kids….. clearly I am a grinchy adult who doesnt find these cute! I’d prefer more lego like stuff, tbh! Sorry (not sorry!) Glad they can be recycled as that is straight where they will be heading!

  • My daughter loved collecting these the past couple of years and is going to be super excited when I tell her they are back again. They are so good to get the kids imagination going. We still have all the Ooshies from the previous years and are regularly played with from time to time.

  • These are always cute and popular and I know my grandsons will be avidly collecting them again. I do worry about all this unnecessary plastic stuff ending up in landfill though. The more I see the more worried I am about it and I feel guilty for collecting them. But I will.

  • Ooshies are always a lot of fun to collect and also to play with and they are a really good bonus when doing a normal shop. We have always done a normal shop for promotions and end up collecting enough points for ooshies and bricks etc. We share them with friends and family that collect them.

  • I am happy to make someone else happy with them though. I know one of my support workers always collects these type of collectables to hand them as rewards or encouragements to her young clients. I will probably collect them for her.
Sorry if my previous comments sounded a bit negative, that is not my intention.

  • Mums of Australia, get ready !? Get ready for what, lol ? I can’t say my kids nor myself were really interested before when this collectable came out and neither my youngest nor I are interested in this now. To be really honest I just see it as a useless plastic wee toy and you can’t do much with it.

  • Aww these are very, very cute. That little spider man is too sweet. I have to give major kudos to Woolworths for making them out of 97% recycled material. I feel like they have taken to heart the concerns the public has had on their previous bonuses. And the recycling for unwanted pieces is excellent. Well done to them
